New classes, including a night where you and your group determine the menu!
Thursday, Sept. 16: Valley Junction Farmers' Market Tour - Have an adventuresome spirit?!? Tour the market with Perry, sampling, talking about taste combinations and ingredients. Then Perry will take his fresh purchases and make you an amazing 3-dish meal. What's on the menu? Could it be Corn and Pea Pods or Fried Green Tomatoes? Some wonderful artisan cheese? There's no way to tell. We'll buy the best of the market, and make amazing food! This class will last from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Friday, Sept. 24th: Perry makes Indian! Lamb Biryani, Samosa, and Chicken Masala. One of Perry's specialties is teaching you to make the food from your favorite ethnic restaurants! You won't want to miss this!
Tuesday, Oct. 12: Perry makes Mexican! Learn how to make authentic tacos (no fast food chain food here!). Plus tamales, chile rellenos and the best guacamole you've ever had!
Saturday, Oct. 23: Perry cooks Italian! - Pasta Praiano, a simple yet stunning dish with a light tomato sauce; Pork Piccata, and Fresh Pesto Risotto. This will change your view of Italian cooking!
Tuesday, Nov. 9: Italian, too! By popular demand, Perry makes his famous Gnocchi with both cream and red sauces, Margherita Pizza and Tuscan Beans. Yum!
Bring It!: A perfect event for a bunch of friends, a social group or a business retreat
Bring it!: Perry creates a meal....with what YOU bring! Admit it: you love those TV shows that challenge chefs with strange combinations of ingredients! Now, you can watch it happen! Perry is a master of making up dishes on the fly. To schedule this class, get a group of at least 5 people together. Perry will give you a list of types of items to bring (a meat or fish, fruits or veggies, herbs, grains, dairy products, etc.) You choose your favorite ingredient, perhaps prawns or basil or currants or peanut butter. Each classmate unveils their choice at the class....and then Perry will make amazing food out of your choices. Do this just for fun. Or, make this a fun business retreat with a point: let Perry talk to you about how very different ingredients can come together to make something unexpectedly good, how to decide which parts should take lead roles, while others play supporting roles. If your business needs to think outside of the box, do business in a new way, or integrate seemingly incongruous elements, you'll (literally) eat this up!
Just to whet your appetite: Asian green beans with Thai Basil. Fresh from Perry's kitchen. Yummm!
Here are a few ideas not currently on the schedule. But give Perry a call, and set one up!
Perry's greatest hits - Blueberry Portabella Tart (a savory treat, great with a crisp Chardonnay!); Thai Crispy Noodles with Shrimp, Pork and Tofu (the pickled ginger here explodes in your mouth); and the deep, Cajun heat of Crawfish Etouffee.
Fast Food! - Perry brings you a few of the quick dishes he’s been writing about for The Des Moines Register. Farfalle (bowtie pasta) with Chicken, Broccoli and a light cream sauce, Pea Pods and Fresh Corn, and Pork Chops with Cabbage and Tomato. These are fast, and GREAT!
A new Thai class - Crispy Fish with Ginger Sauce, Yellow Curry Chicken, and Thai Noodles.

Do you know a family struggling to afford food?
Perry and friends from Urbandale United Church of Christ are trying, once a month, to provide a good meal for some folks who are struggling to put food on their own tables. The church sponsors a community spaghetti feed on the second Wednesday of every month, and Perry is the cook. If you know someone we could help, please call Jennifer Gardner at 577-7980.
